Mountain Harbor Hostel

We had a great week hiking. Judy’s shins are improving.  We did cut down the mileage some although we did do a 13.5 day. The weather has been great this week. Today we are at Mt Harbor Hostel in Roan Mt. Tenn. Looks like rain tomorrow! There have been many spectacular views this week! Roan Mt was tree covered so fewer views were available. The trail had several hazardous ice covered places.    Roan Mt. has the highest shelter on the AT at 6100 feet. The Overmountian shelter is the largest which is a large barn.  We camped in a large field near the barn with Pushing Sixty a teacher from Minn.   The The bald mountains offered great views this week!   I have been very grateful this week as we hiked and camped with a family of six through hiking. They have girls aged from sis to twelve. They all have great attitudes and are so fun to talk to! Each girl has their own charity they are raising money for. It is truly inspiring to see t...
