Week 1 under our belts!! This included pouring rain day 2 followed by a cold snap that caused all of our wet clothes to freeze. Literally we put on frozen shorts over leggings and hiked as they thawed and dried (sort of). The temperature dropped to 16 two nights in a row. We were warm enough in our tent but breaking camp in the morning was brutal. Tonight (3/8/19) we are in Top of Georgia Hostel where $40 gets you a bunk, a towel for showering, scrubs to wear while they do your laundry and lots of good company. What are our trail names? Steve is now “Skins” and Judy is “Steamy”. We hit the trail in the morning and in 8.9 miles

ReplyDeleteJudy and Steve, I'm sure the story of your nicknames is much tamer than what my mind has come up with their evolution I don't think you can get any more intimate than what you're going to achieve during this adventure. Stay safe, Lovies. Thank you for letting us know how you are doing. Christine
Judy: you look sooooo like Jared with your haircut! I wondered how y'all were doing with this winter that won't end. Dom/Sam/River have been nomadic in the southwest dodging snow but have finally hit the warm-up occuring in southern Texas. Stay safe! oxoxoox
