Although Steve just posted a couple of days ago, I’ll give an update anyway. We have had some beautiful days and the trail is changing slowly to less severe/extreme elevation changes. One exciting milestone was literally spelled out on the trail for us...
Yes!  We have hiked over 400 miles at this point. This is amazing to us. We are almost 5 weeks on trail. So far aside from Judy’s bout of shin splints all is well. Yesterday we climbed for a long time near Laurel Falls. Once at water level we scaled some rocks and Judy ran into an 18 inch snake. It was harmless, but didn’t want me to pass (my interpretation) so I prodded it with my hiking pole. Here are some more photos of the last couple of days. Tuesday night we will be staying in Damascus, VA...our 4th state. We will have some time to enjoy it as there are 500 miles to walk in VA. Some folks get the “Virginia Blues”, but we’re looking forward to some days of easy terrain!!

We are so blessed to have you in our lives and appreciate your prayers and well wishes!
